The village
The river is the boundary: Moraitika's resort is on the north bank, Messonghi's village on the south, and a bridge on the main road joins them. The beach faces east across the strait, and the coast road leaves the main road here to follow the shore to Boukari, a stretch of small harbours and fish tavernas. Inland, the road climbs to Agios Mattheos beneath its mountain.
