Pelekas is a hill village on Corfu's west coast, about twenty-five minutes from the airport, set on a ridge with the sea on one side and the centre of the island on the other, and the viewpoint known as the Kaiser's Throne above it. It is a proper village, with a square, tavernas and stone houses, and it has a sandy beach at Kontogialos below. It suits buyers who want village life, a sunset view and the beach a short drive down the hill.

The village
Pelekas stands high enough to see both coasts, and the viewpoint at the top of the village is where visitors still go for the sunset. The lanes below hold old houses, some restored as homes and small guesthouses, and the road down the west side reaches the beach at Kontogialos, with Glyfada over the headland to the north and Myrtiotissa beyond. Corfu Town is close enough for the village to be lived in year round.
