Area guide
The town
The town is laid out on flat ground between the lagoon and the sea, with the marina of some 620 berths on its eastern side and the swing bridge to the mainland at its northern edge. Earthquakes shaped the architecture: the upper floors are timber and sheet metal on stone bases, a construction that gives the streets their particular look. The airport at Aktion is about 20 kilometres from the causeway, and Athens is around four hours by road.
Apartments and houses
Lefkada Town offers apartments alongside town houses in the old streets and villas on the low hills to the south. Asking prices are shown on each listing; ask for an independent valuation before you make an offer. Buyers are more mixed than on the coast, with Greek households alongside foreign purchasers, and winter use is realistic here in a way it is not in the resort villages.
