The village sits where the cultivated slopes of the east coast meet the higher ground of the interior, and its position gives long views over Nidri and Vlicho Bay to Skorpios and the mainland. The road through it continues up to Karya and the plateau villages. It is a quiet place in every season, with a small permanent population.
